S Alam Cold Steels approves 10 per cent dividend

S Alam Cold Rolled Steels Limited has approved 10 per cent dividend for the shareholders for the year that ended on June 30, 2017.

The approval came from the 17th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the company held at a hotel in the city on Friday.

The AGM was chaired by its chairman Abdus Samad.

The AGM was told that the company's net sale in the last fiscal year was Tk 2,451 million while the post-tax profit was Tk 106.2 million.

The meeting re-elected Abdus Samad as sponsor director while Md Shah Jahan was investor-director, Halima Begum as general investor-director and Ms Rahman Mostafa & Co auditor for the next fiscal.

Director Osman Gani, non-shareholder independent directors Md Ishaque and Monotosh Chandra Roy, executive director (finance) Subrata Kumar Bhoumik, company secretary Golam Mohammed, chief financial officer Shimul Nandi and a large number of shareholders were present in the AGM.

Sohrab Hossain Lincoln, Mohiuddin Shamim, Nurul Anwar and Hiralal Banik spoke on behalf of the shareholders.

The shareholders urged the management to hold AGMs on Saturdays in future and demanded provision for sales of products, enhanced facilities for the skilled officials, higher dividend for shareholders and arrangement of factory inspection by shareholders.

They hoped that the management would continue progress of the company by adopting time-befitting strategy.
