‘World Standards Day’ to be observed on Monday

Bangladesh, like elsewhere in the world, will observe the 50th ‘World Standards Day’ on Monday with the theme ‘Video standards create a global stage’.

On the occasion, President Md. Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Industry Minister Mr. Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, State Minister, Ministry of Industries Mr. Kamal Ahmed Majumder and Industry secretary Md. Abdul Halim have given separate messages.

Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) has also chalked out several programmes for the day.

Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar will telecast special programmes to mark the day.

Moreover, different important places of capital city are being decorated by banners, festoons and placards.

BSTI is going to organise a discussion meeting on Monday at its Head Office at Tejgaon.

Industry Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun will speak as chief guest.
