Two people were killed and 11 others injured in clash between two factions of Awami League over establishing supremacy at Bogargot village in Sadar upazila on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Anwar Ali, 45, a supporter of UP member and ward no -9 AL vice-president Bachchu Mia and Motalib Mia, 40, a supporter of ward president Kamal Sarkar.
Officer-in-charge of Sadar Model Police Station Md Syeduzzaman said as a sequel to previous enmity, supporters of Bachchu Mia and Kamal Sarkar attacked each other with sharp weapons, leaving Anwar on the spot.
Among the injured, Motalib died on way to hospital, reports UNB.
The injured were rushed to Sadar Hospital and among them, four were sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, he added.
Additional police force were deployed in the village to fend off further trouble.
