The two-day 29th national council of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) will be held on May 11-12 next.
Before the national council, its Dhaka south city, north city and Dhaka University units' councils will be held on April 24, 26 and 29 respectively.
BCL President Saifur Rahman Sohag made the disclosure at a press conference at Awami League's Bangabandhu Avenue office in the city on Thursday.
In a written statement, he said, "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to attend the inaugural session of the two-day national council."
He, however, said the venue of the council will be announced later.
BCL General Secretary SM Jakir Hossain, Vice-Presidents Kazi Enayet and Imtiaz Bappy were also present at the press conference.
The two-year tenure of the present BCL committee, led by Saifur Rahman Sohag and SM Jakir Hossain, was formed through the 28th national council in 2015 expired on July 26 last, reports UNB.
