A doa and milad-mahfil seeking salvation of the departed soul of Awami League former general secretary and Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam will be held at at Ashraf's official residence in the city's Bailey Road after Asr prayers on Tuesday.
AL general secretary Obaidul Quader urged all concerned to attend the programme in time, according to an AL release.
Syed Ashraf died of lung cancer at Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok around 9:45pm on Thursday at the age of 67. The body of Syed Ashraf was brought back home on Saturday evening.
Ashraf, also an Awami League presidium member, was laid to eternal rest in Dhaka on Sunday.
He was buried at Banani Graveyard following three namaz-e-janazas -- at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad, in Kishoreganj and Mymensingh.
