The health of imprisoned BNP chief Khaleda Zia’s has deteriorated further due to the indifference of prison authorities.
BNP Secretary General Miirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said this on Wednesday while briefing the media at the party’s Naya Paltan Office in the city.
Relatives visited Khaleda at the Old Central Jail on Tuesday and found her in poor health, Fakhrul said.
“The unfortunate truth is that the jail authorities are completely indifferent towards Khaleda Zia’s health,” the BNP leader said.
“Her family members went to meet her yesterday. They said that her health has worsened. She was unable to keep her head straight or fold her legs in court. She is not in good health.”
On Mar 19, Khaleda Zia appeared for a case hearing held at the prison. After meeting her at the hearing, Mirza Fakhrul said that the BNP chief was experiencing pains throughout her body and was unable to eat, reports bdnews24.com.
