BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was hospitalised on Thursday morning as he fell sick.
He was taken to United Hospital around 8 am, BNP vice-chairman AZM Zahid Hossain told the media.
"The BNP secretary general was admitted to the United Hospital for health check-up as he was feeling unwell. He's now doing well under observation of physicians," he added.
Family sources said Fakhrul fell sick after attending a namaz-e-janaza of one of his relatives, reports UNB.
Last month, Fakhrul went to Bangkok and received treatment at Bumrungrad International Hospital for various health complexities, including blockage in his internal carotid artery and cardiac problem.
