Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said their party will nominate a most respectable person for presidency.
"We're yet to choose our candidate for the president polls. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the nomination board will select the candidate who is most respectable to the country's people," he said.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, was talking to reporters after inaugurating work on the Singair-Manikganj-Hemayetpur regional highway at Hemayetpur on Saturday.
Local MP Md Enamur Rahman, former acting chairman of Savar upazila parishad Fakhrul Alam and senior officials concerned were present.
