Police arrested 14 leaders and activists of Chittagong Polytechnic Institute unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) from different student dormitories on Saturday evening.
Police said they conducted a joint drive in different students' dormitories of the area and arrested at least 14 leaders and activists of Chittagong Polytechnic Institute unit of BCL for interrogation.
Police also recovered eight machetes and seven cleavers from the roof of a mess.
Earlier in the evening, the followers of BCL leaders Monir Hossain Monir and Ashraf groups locked into clash following previous enmity, said UNB.
On information, police appeared at the spot and arrested the BCL men.
