BNP has supported Thursday’s general strike called by the left parties protesting the latest power price hike.
“We consider this hartal to be rational for the sake of the people. The BNP fully supports tomorrow’s general strike by left parties,” senior BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said on Wednesday.
Following the new tariff announcements on Nov 23, leftists called an eight-hour countrywide shutdown—a protest the BNP had earlier said it does not consider to be ‘always accepted by the public’.bdnews24.com said.
