Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has claimed that the BNP has become a 'self-confessed corrupt party' through changing its constitution.
"They changed the section 7 of the party constitution at night under cover of darkness as they're corrupt," he said on Friday.
The road transport and bridges minister made the remarks while talking to reporters at Fatehpur level-crossing in Feni after inspecting work on a railway overpass on Dhaka-Chhattagram highway.
Quader said the court sent BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia to jail and the court will decide about her release.
"The government has nothing to do with it," the minister said, reports UNB.
He also said gun is the source of BNP's power but Awami League's source of power is the soil and people of Bangladesh.
"Awami League formed the government with people's mandate," the minister said.
