Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that the next general polls would be held in December 2018.
The people of the country wil reject anti-liberation forces in the next general election.
AL general secretary made the comments after paying tributes by placing wreaths at the portrait of the Father of the Nation in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi in Dhaka on Saturday.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said Awami League led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would take part in the next parliament election.
He called upon leaders and activists of the party to take preparation for the next general polls.
Joint-General Secretary of AL Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organizing secretaries Ahmed Hossain, AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, Mejbah Uddin Seraj and Forest and Environment Secretary Delwar Hossain, among others, were present on the occasion, says a BSS report.
