The pro Awami League lawyers’ forum, Bangabandhu Awami Ainjibi Parishad (BAAP), has clinched victory in the Jamalpur Bar Association (JBA) election.
The panel backed by the ruling AL has successfully bagged all the 15 posts, says a UNB report.
BAAP candidates Md Amanullah Akash and advocate Md Abdus Salam were elected president and general secretary of the JBA respectively, defeating their rival candidates.
On Tuesday night, the result was announced by Advocate Nirmal Kanti Bhadra, chief election commissioner of Jamalpur Bar Association.
The half-day voting in the election concluded around 2 pm starting from 9 am after 298 lawyers cast their votes to elect the executive committee for 2018.
