The Dhaka Stocks Exchange and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) slipped into red on Sunday, the first trading day of the week, as the investors went on selling spree.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, lost 16.93 points or 0.27 per cent to settle at 6,213 points.
The DS30 index, comprising the blue-chips fell 7.88 points or 0.35 per cent to finish at 2,239 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) slipped 3.34 points or 0.24 per cent to finish at 1,373.
The turnover, an important indicator of the market, stood 3.38 billion, which was about 16 per cent lower than the previous day.
The port city bourse also closed lower with its Selective Categories Index - CSCX – losing 23.73 points to close at 11,624.
Of the 238 issues traded, 130 closed lower, 70 closed higher, and 38 issues remained unchanged on the CSE floor.
The port city bourse traded a total of 6.60 million shares and mutual fund units worth Tk 195 million in turnover.
