Quantum Foundation emerged champions in the Cute Metropolis Premier Division Handball League, reports UNB.

They beat lowly Old Ideals by 40-15 goals in their last league match at Shaheed Capt (Retd) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the city on Tuesday.

President of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) and former chief of Bangladesh Army General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq was the chief guest at the day's closing function and later he distributed the champions and runners-up trophies.

Chairman of the league sponsor Mousumi Industries Ltd (Cute) Kazi Rajibuddin Ahmed Chapal was the special guest at the function, chaired by President of Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul.

In the day's other matches, Arambagh KS beat their neighbour Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club by 77-14 goals after leading the first half by 39-7 goals. Narinda Pragoti Boys Club beat Prime Sporting Club by 46-38 goals after dominating the first half by 25-21 goals.

On completion of all the league matches, both Arambagh KS and Narinda Boys have secured 22 points each from nine outings, but Arambagh KS finished runners-up.
