Ceramic sector witnesses highest return of 7.7pc

Most of the sector posted positive return last week that ended on Thursday with ceramic sector witnessed the highest return as share price of all five ceramic companies soared on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

 

Of the 19 sectors listed with the prime bourse, except corporate bonds, debenture and treasury bonds, the market cap of 15 sectors closed higher while four sectors faced correction, according to weekly analysis of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

 

The ceramic sector, which comprising five companies, witnessed the highest 7.73 per cent gain in five trading sessions executed in last week on the premier bourse DSE.

 

In last week, the average daily turnover featured by ceramic sector Tk 327 million which was 217 per cent higher than average daily turnover of previous week.

 

Of the ceramic companies, Standard Ceramic was the week's top gainer, posting a 40 per cent gain to close at Tk 97.30 each on the Thursday over the previous week.

 

Share price of Monno Ceramic Industries closed at Tk 90.30 each on Thursday, registering an increase of 36 per cent over the previous week. It was the week's second highest gainer.

 

Fu-Wang Ceramic witnessed a 20 per cent gain over the previous week to close at Tk 22.90 each on Thursday. It was the fourth highest gainer of the week.

 

Shinepukur's share price closed at Tk 16.10 each on Thursday, gaining 8.80 per cent over the previous week.

 

RAK Ceramic witnessed a 3.40 per cent return last week to close its share price at Tk 58.60 each.
