Ctg Int’l Trade Fair begins

The month-long 26th Chittagong International Trade Fair (CITF)-2018 began at Railway Pologround in the port city on Saturday.
Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan, MP, inaugurated the fair as the chief guest at Bangabandhu Conference Hall of the World Trade Centre in Agrabad area with Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries President Mahbubul Alam in the chair.
The fair, hosted by Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries, will remain open for visitors from 10:00am to 10:00pm every day.
Thailand, India, Iran and Mauritius along with some other countries are showcasing their products at 450 stalls and pavilions.
Thailand joined the fair as partner country for the 14th consecutive term.
State Minister for Land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed, Chittagong City Corporation Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin, lawmaker MA Latif and FBCCI first Vice President Sheikh Fazle Fahim were also present at the ceremony as special guests.
Security measures were taken to fend off any unwanted situation, said Mahbubul Alam, reports UNB.
