Dutch envoy Harry Verweij offered on Thursday his best support for better trade and economic ties between the Netherlands and Bangladesh.
He was speaking at a reception accorded to him by the Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DBCCI) at a city hotel.
He expressed his gratitude to the DBCCI for their efforts in the area of bilateral trade development and promotion.
Speaking on the occasion, DBCCI president Faruque Hassan mentioned the significant contribution of the Netherlands to Bangladesh in the areas of textile and RMG, infrastructure, agriculture, river administration, skill development and other government projects, especially the Delta Plan 2100.
Asif A. Chowdhury, former president of DBCCI and honorary consul of Chile in Dhaka, assured the ambassador of his allout cooperation.
Kazi M Aminul Islam, Executive Chairman, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), Prime Minister's Office, highlighted the investment environment in Bangladesh.
The DBCCI president thanked Hashan Mahmood Chowdhury, Senior Vice President of the DBCCI and Managing Director & CEO of KN-Harbour Consortium Ltd., for sponsoring the event.
