'Maximum Retail Price (MRP) policy 2018' and 'Warranty policy 2018' on computer hardware became effective from July 22 across the country.
Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) revealed the information at a press conference on the implementation of 'Maximum Retail Policy 2018' and 'Warranty Policy 2018' on Wednesday at its office in the capital.
“It is obligatory for traders to display the MRP on computers and accessories as Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) started implementing the policies. The new policy will benefit both the buyer and the seller,” said the organisers.
President Subrata Sarkar said implementation of these two policies would ensure quality and credibility of computer products.
At the same time, the management of computer hardware market would be very strong and stable, he added.
BCS vice president Yusuf Ali Shamim, secretary general Mosharraf Hossain Suman, treasurer Md. Jabedur Rahman Shaheen,among others, were present on the occasion.
The annual turnover from sales of computer and its accessories in the country is around Tk 10 billion.
