The three-day long 6th Annual Sustainable Development Conference-2018 begins in Bangkok today (Wednesday).
Experts will present their papers as speakers from more than 25 countries including USA, Canada, Thailand, Italy, Bangladesh, Finland, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, the Netherlands, Japan, Turkey, China, Korea, Czech Republic, Taiwan, Hungary and Sweden.
The conference will put thrust on green technology, renewable energy and environmental protection related issues towards achieving the agendas of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Conference is organised by 'Tomorrow People Organization'- internationally recognized non-profit organization with headquarters in Belgrade, Serbia.
The delegates from more than 40 countries around the world will attend.
"This high-profile conference on sustainable development will deliver the comprehensive understanding of green economy with greater importance for successful and continuous development of every individual, organization and society as a whole," said Md. Touhidul Alam Khan, the lone participant from Bangladesh.
He will present a paper as speaker titled " Sustainability reporting towards sustainable development in banking sector: Bangladesh Perspective" on a special invitation from the organisers.
Khan is the Deputy Managing Director & Chief Business Officer and Head of Sustainability Reporting Committee (SRC) of Prime Bank Ltd.
He will highlight Bangladesh's banking sector milestone initiatives by implementing & publishing sustainability reports under Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) model and accorded global acceptance from GRI headquarters in the Netherlands.
The speakers will address the issues that will have to face in transforming ideas into workable, innovative and progressive projects. In order to achieve that, this 3-day event will include both exciting panel discussions and networking activities for educators of all ages and from all over the world.
