Leathertech Bangladesh to begin from Thursday

The LEATHERTECH Bangladesh 2018 is set to begin in Dhaka from Thursday with an aim to bring global technology to the doorstep of the local industry.

ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd is the organiser of the 6th edition of the three-day tradeshow to be held at the International Convention City, Bashundara (ICCB).

The announcement was made at a press conference at a hotel in the capital on Monday, says a press release.

In addition, the 2nd edition of Bangladesh Leather Footwear & Leather Goods International Sourcing Show-BLLISS 2018 will be arranged by Leather goods and Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB) at the same venue.

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed will inaugurate the event. Industrial leaders and government high officials will attend it.

The event will remain open from 11 am to 7pm every day for all.

Over 300 exhibitors from nearly 20 countries will participate in the event showcasing finished leather, machinery for tanning leather, manufacturing footwear and leather goods along with components, dyes and chemicals, accessories and allied products to transform the leather sector in Bangladesh.

Apart from the main event, there will be a handful of mini-events like "Buyer-Seller Meet" to help the exhibitors to interact with the sourcing team from factories on November 22 and 23.

A  seminar on key concerns of the sector will be held on November24.

Nanda Gopal K, Director of ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd., said forthcoming edition will showcase latest innovations and provide multiple supplier options compared to earlier editions.

"The sector is striding towards an ambitious target of USD 5 Billion in exports by the year 2021," Nanda Gopal added.

Md. Saiful Islam, President of Leather Goods and Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB); Kazi Rawshan Ara,  Executive Director of  Leather Goods and Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB) and Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan,  Managing Director of  ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd. were also present in the press conference.  

Leathergoods & Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (LFMEAB) are the LEAD Support for the event with Centre of Excellence for Leather Skills Bangladesh Limited (COEL) as Strategic Partner. Leathertech Bangladesh 2018 is also supported by Bangladesh Tanners Association (BTA), Bangladesh Finished Leather, Leathergoods and Footwear Exporters Association (BFLLFEA), Bangladesh Paduka Prostutkarak Samity (BPPS), Leather Engineers & Technologists Society (LETS).
