Bangladesh shares 17.33 per cent of MSCI Frontier Market Asia Index

Share of Bangladesh in the MSCI Frontier Market Asia Index stood at 17.33 per cent at the end of July this year.
Vietnam held the highest portion –around 71.74 per cent – in the index while the rest 10.93 per cent was occupied by Sri Lanka.
The index, created by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), captures large and middle cap representation across three Asian markets countries-Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
It includes 22 constituents, listed companies to be precise, covering about 85 per cent of the free float-adjusted market capitalisation in each country, according to the latest review report of the MSCI.
The index also showed that two Bangladeshi companies, Square Pharma and Grameenphone, are placed among the top 10 constituents of the index.
