Overhauling the existing tax framework and ensuring sustainable public-private management of infrastructure are essential to transforming Bangladesh's creative industries into a formidable economic driver, experts at a webinar said.
They stated that addressing the disparities in corporate taxation between local and foreign digital platforms, alongside strict enforcement of intellectual property rights, will unlock substantial investments and foster a globally competitive brand.
The observations were made at the webinar focusing on whether the creative economy is merely a slogan or an untapped potential.
Hosted by the Power and Participation Research Centre (PPRC), the event was moderated by PPRC Executive Chairman Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman and featured participants including filmmaker Tanim Noor and Chorki CEO Redwan Rony.
