Bangladesh's overall inflation decreased by 0.17 percentage points to 9.72 per cent in June from May’s 9.89, according to data released by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).
The food inflation slightly eased to 10.42 per cent in June from 10.76 per cent in May, while the non-food inflation decreased to 9.15 per cent from 9.19 per cent in the same period.
Moreover, the overall inflation in villages dropped by 0.18 percentage points to 9.81 per cent in June, the statistical bureau showed.
In urban areas, the overall inflation rate declined by 0.14 per cent to 9.58 per cent in the last month of the previous fiscal year.
Food inflation fell to 10.54 per cent and non-food inflation dropped to 8.98 per cent in June in the towns.
