The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has urged the government to raise the tax-free income limit for individual taxpayers to Tk 450,000 from Tk 350,000.
The country’s apex trade body also proposed raising the tax-free income limit to Tk 0.5 million for women.
FBCCI Administrator Md Hafizur Rahman placed the proposals while addressing the 45th NBR-FBCCI Consultative Committee Meeting on Wednesday.
He also proposed reducing tax at the source against all kinds of exports, including export-oriented RMG, to 0.50 per cent from 1.0 per cent and thus keeping it for five years.
