IUBAT presents adaptation of William Shakespeare’s ‘The Merchant of Venice’

The Department of English and Modern Languages (DEML) at the IUBAT - International University of Business Agriculture and Technology delighted audiences with an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice.
The performance, directed by the esteemed Md Kawsar Uddin, took place on Saturday evening at the IUBAT Open Auditorium, according to a press release.
DEML showcased this adaptation following their productions of Macbeth in 2023 and Romeo and Juliet in 2020.
The production incorporated unique background sounds, music, and dance with an aim of creating a immersive and thought-provoking experience, the press release said.
A group of actors and actresses from DEML brought the characters to life on stage, captivating the audience with their performances.
"We are happy to have had the opportunity to present this adaptation of 'The Merchant of Venice' to our audience," said Md Kawsar Uddin, Director of the production and Associate Professor at DEML. "It was truly a collaborative effort, and I am incredibly proud of the dedication and talent displayed by our cast and crew."
