TEDx hosted at BAU for the second time

The internationally renowned idea-sharing event, TEDx, was hosted for the second time at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) on Saturday.

The event, titled 'Renaissance of the Nation: Inspired the July Revolution,' was organized by BAU Career Club (BAUCC) at the Syed Nazrul Islam Conference Room, with The Financial Express as the media partner.

BAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. A.K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan inaugurated the event, while BAUCC General Secretary Shahed Zakir Api moderated the discussions.

Among the distinguished attendees were Prof Dr. Md. Bahanur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and University Syndicate Member, and Prof Dr. Shahidul Haque, Student Affairs Advisor.

The day-long event, attended by approximately 200 students, featured nine distinguished speakers who shared their experiences, insights, and socio-economic perspectives.

The discussions revolved around themes of innovation, cultural revolution, and personal growth. Additionally, an interactive brainstorming session allowed students to engage with speakers on career-related queries.

The lineup of speakers included renowned actor Afzal Hossain, nutritionist Ashek Mahfuz, filmmaker Ashfaq Nipun, Iron Man fame Imtiaz Elahi, actress Kazi Nowshaba Ahmed, content creator Farhan Sadiq, writer Nazim Ud Daula, acclaimed landscape photographer and video storyteller Abdul Momin, and agricultural entrepreneur Mujahidul Islam Zahid.

Speaking on the occasion, Shahed Zakir Api, General Secretary of BAUCC, stated, "Our goal is to guide students toward the right career path by equipping them with essential skills. We hope this event serves as a source of inspiration and confidence for them. More workshops and seminars are in the pipeline."

TEDx, a globally recognized platform, features influential speakers from various fields.

Over the years, notable personalities such as Bill Gates, Stephen Hawking, Elon Musk, Sam Burns, and Shah Rukh Khan have graced TEDx stages worldwide.

The initiative at BAU aims to bring similar impactful discussions to students, fostering creativity and critical thinking.
