Job responsibilities
- Designing high-quality infographics, charts, data visualisations, and illustrations for print and digital platforms.
- Converting complex economic, financial, and statistical information into visually appealing graphics.
- Collaborating with editors, reporters, and the digital team to conceptualise visual storytelling.
- Developing layouts and visual elements for special pages, supplements, news times, and feature stories.
- Ensuring consistency with the newspaper’s visual identity and editorial standards.
- Meeting tight editorial deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
Educational requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with training in Graphic Design and Multimedia. A degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Multimedia, or a related field will be an advantage. In special cases, this requirement may be relaxed.
Experience requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in graphic design, preferably in a media house, digital platform, or creative agency.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating infographics and data visualisation work.
Additional requirements
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign.
- Ability to interpret data, statistics, and research reports into visual formats.
- Knowledge of data visualisation tools will be an advantage.
- Creative thinking with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Age: 25-40 years
