Spokesperson and Executive Director Arief Hossain Khan said on Sunday that no fresh probe was under consideration.

However, the central bank would act if evidence linked Shahabuddin to any previously reported incident.

Shahabuddin resigned on Friday after being elected during the Awami League government’s tenure, stepping down nearly two years before his term was due to end.

Two days after resigning, he left Bangabhaban and moved to his residence in Gulshan.

The National Citizen Party, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis and Inqilab Moncho have since demanded his arrest and prosecution.
