Two special assistants to the interim government’s chief adviser have visited the manufacturing facilities of Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd (Beximco Pharma), one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Bangladesh.

The Wednesday’s visit of Abdul Hafiz and Dr Anisuzzaman Chowdhury included a guided tour to Beximco Pharma’s production lines, research and development centre, and advanced quality control laboratories.

The special assistants were briefed on the company’s innovation pipeline, export performance, and public health contributions both locally and internationally, says a press release.

Abdul Hafiz, the special assistant to the chief adviser on defence and the development of national harmony, appreciated the company’s achievements. He said, “Beximco Pharma serves as an example of how the country’s pharma sector transforms itself driving technological advancement to compete in global market.”

Dr Anisuzzaman Chowdhury lauded the company’s efforts, saying, “It is encouraging to see a Bangladeshi company investing in high-quality research and development while maintaining international standards.”

The two special assistants commended Beximco Pharma’s contribution to the national economy through job creation, foreign exchange earnings, and healthcare innovation.

They emphasised the importance of continued collaboration between the public and private sectors to strengthen Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical industry.
