A Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leader has been accused of attacking an Islami Chhatra Shibir activist in Dhanmondi No. 32, allegedly over suspicions that he was an Awami League member.
On Thursday, another individual was assaulted, and a woman was harassed over suspicions of being an Awami League member.
Additionally, three others were beaten and handed over to police on similar suspicions.
Local leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal held a procession at Dhanmondi 32, demanding the hanging of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
Shibir leaders and activists had also gathered there.
Meanwhile, Md Mamun, a member of Shibir’s Dhaka College unit, was beaten on suspicion of being an Awami League member.
He alleged that he was attacked despite police presence nearby. He claimed he had called police repeatedly but did not receive any response.
Meanwhile, another Shibir member named Ahad was also dragged away by the attackers.
Dhaka College Shibir member Md Towhidul said, “One of the attackers has been handed over to the local Chhatra Dal. We have demanded a proper trial for this attack.”
