Police arrested a young man from Biharhaat in Shibganj upazila of Bogura on Wednesday for spreading rumours on social media to instigate the recent student protests.
The arrestee was identified as Arifur Rahman Zahid, 22, son of Abdul Khalek of Biharhaat of the upazila.
A team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Zahid around 8pm on Wednesday, reports UNB.
Sanatan Chakrawarty, Additional Superintendent of Bogura Police, said Zahid gave a post against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Home Minister and Road Transport and Bridges Minister in his facebook page and got involved in instigating people during the student movement for safe road.
