Driver dies as newspaper-laden truck collides with another truck on Dhaka-Barishal Highway

A driver has been killed after a newspaper-laden mini truck collided with another truck in Madaripur's Dasar Upazila.
Four others have also been injured in the crash on the Dhaka-Barishal Highway.
The accident occurred around 5:30 am on Monday near Pantapara, Sub-Inspector (SI) Matiur Rahman of the Madaripur Highway Police outpost said.
The identity of the deceased driver could not be established immediately, bdnews24.com reports.
The injured were rescued and admitted to Madaripur District Hospital.
According to police, a truck travelling to Dhaka from Barishal collided head-on with a mini truck carrying newspapers from Dhaka to the south.
The front section of the newspaper-laden vehicle was mangled in the impact, killing its driver on the spot.
After the incident was reported, personnel from the Fire Service and Civil Defence and the Mostofapur Highway Police outpost recovered the body from the scene.
SI Matiur said traffic movement on the highway was disrupted for some time following the crash, causing a long tailback.
The situation began returning to normal after the damaged vehicles were removed.
