Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon has sought an apology for remarks that drew criticism, saying he had not intended to hurt anyone.

“Many have objected to my personal remarks. I did not say anything intentionally. Even so, if anyone was hurt, I apologise,” he said while speaking about a bill during the budget session in Parliament at 7:30pm on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, HSC examinees demonstrated in many places of the country, demanding the education minister’s resignation over the decision to continue HSC exams amid heavy rainfall and waterlogging.
