With the Eid vacation in full swing, Kuakata – the panoramic sea beach often regarded as Sagar Kanya (daughter of sea) – is steadily regaining its festive charm as holidaymakers have thronged the tourist destination, bringing renewed vibrancy to the coastal tourism hub.

Although tourist arrivals remained relatively modest at the beginning of the holiday period, the situation began to change from Friday morning as increasing numbers of visitors flocked to the beach town.

Traditionally, Kuakata witnesses a massive surge of tourists from the afternoon of Eid day. This year, however, the rush was slower to build, reports UNB..

From Friday morning, the beach started bustling with visitors eager to enjoy the scenic beauty and festive atmosphere.

At the beach's Zero Point, tourists were seen enjoying the gentle waves, strolling along the shoreline with family and friends and soaking in the panoramic views of the Bay of Bengal.

Children spent hours building sandcastles and playing on the beach.

The growing number of visitors is not limited to the beach area alone. Tourist spots, including the confluence of the three rivers, Lebur Char, Jhau Forest, the dried fish village and Gangamati, are also witnessing increased footfall of visitors.

Local hotel and motel operators expressed optimism that the number of visitors will increase in the last two days of the holidays.

To ensure the safety and security of visitors, members of the Tourist Police and other law enforcement agencies have been deployed across key tourist spots.

Inspector Jayanta Kumar Mondal of Kuakata Tourist Police said adequate security measures have been taken to ensure that tourists can enjoy their holidays without inconvenience.

"We are maintaining regular patrols at the beach and other tourist locations. Necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for visitors," he said.
