The Forum for Energy Reporters Bangladesh (FERB), an organization of Bangladeshi energy journalists, and the Bangladesh-China Apan Media Club inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Sunday to strengthen bilateral relations and information exchange between the media of China and Bangladesh.

The agreement was signed at Apan Friendship Exchange Center in Dhaka.

The FERB chairman M Azizur Rahman and Bangladesh-China Apan Media Club general secretary Olivia Chu inked the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.

“Energy resources are closely linked to the development of any country. The media of Bangladesh and China are playing a remarkable role in this sector. I hope that through today’s agreement, FERB and the Bangladesh-China Apan Media Club will make an important contribution to the sustainable development of the energy sector and the exchange of information between the two countries,” Director of the Bangla Department of China Media Group (CMG) Yu Kuang Yue said, welcoming the FERB delegation.

After signing the MoU, the FERB chairman M Azizur Rahman said that China’s technology and investment play an invaluable role in the development and master plans of Bangladesh’s energy sector.

“This agreement will not only facilitate objective information exchange between the two countries’ energy sectors but also create new opportunities to enhance the professional skills and capacity of Bangladeshi energy journalists,” he said.

The event was attended by FERB’s executive director Sirajul Islam Siraj, vice chairman Hasan Azad, and directors Faisal Atik and Sajib Ahmed.
