The Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) has announced three private Hajj packages for 2027.
It has also fixed the lowest cost of performing Hajj at Tk over Tk 0.5 million (Tk 513,545) under its economy package and a premium package costing up to over Tk 0.79 million (Tk 791,060).
HAAB president Syed Golam Sarwar made public the packages at a press conference held at a hotel in the capital's Nayapaltan area on Wednesday.
He said that under the announced packages, the special package (Package-1) has been priced over Tk 0.79 million (Tk 791,060), the general package (Package-2) over Tk 0.59 million (Tk 595,580) and the economy package (Package-3) over Tk 0.51 million (Tk 513,545).
He said that private Hajj agencies would also be allowed to introduce one additional premium package based on the preferences and service requirements of pilgrims.
"The package prices have been calculated on the basis of an exchange rate of Tk 33.20 per Saudi riyal. If the exchange rate changes before Hajj, the package prices will be adjusted accordingly," he continued.
Mr Syed Golam Sarwar said the association had prepared the packages after considering accommodation, transport, food, airfare and other essential services to ensure that pilgrims receive standard facilities during their stay in Saudi Arabia.
He said the government-approved general Hajj package would remain mandatory for private pilgrims.
He, however, said that agencies operating under group arrangements would be allowed to offer up to three additional packages in coordination with one another to meet varying demands.
The president of HAAB further said that no agency would be permitted to introduce a package offering services inferior to those included in the government's approved general package.
"Compared with this year's private Hajj packages, the costs have increased across all categories," he maintained.
In 2026, the special package price was over 0.75 million (Tk 750,000), while the general and economy packages cost over Tk 0.55 million ( Tk 550,000) and over Tk 0.51 million (Tk 510,000) respectively.
The increase reflects higher operational costs and adjustments in various service charges associated with organising the pilgrimage, although HAB did not provide a detailed breakdown.
The Hajj 2027 preparations began and both the government and private operators expected to finalise registration procedures and logistical arrangements in the coming months.
The HAAB president urged prospective pilgrims to complete the necessary formalities through authorised agencies and follow official instructions regarding package selection and payment schedules.
Secretary General of HAAB Farid Ahmed Mazumder and other leaders of the association were present.
