The Labour Ministry has formed crisis management committees, aiming to ensure security of workers and staff of industries and keep labour situation manageable amid the coronavirus outbreak, reports UNB.
A total 23 region-based committees have been formed across the country, said a press release on Sunday.
The committees have been formed with the field lever officials of Department of Labour and the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments and concerned areas’ industries owners and workers’ representatives.
If necessary, region-based sub-committees will also be formed, it said.
The committees will work to ensure payment of wages of the workers, inspection of factories if there is any possibility of labour unrest, settlement of labour unrest through arbitration, ensuring that workers are following corona related health rules and coordination between local administration and industrial police.
