Law enforcers, in special drives arrested 28 suspects including six drug traders, two activists of BNP and two activists of Jamaat-E-Islami from different areas of the district in last 12-hour ending at 8 am Friday morning.
Law enforcers also seized 119 bottles of Phensidyl during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district on different charges.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested five people including two activists of BNP, Biral Thana police arrested two, Birganj Thana police arrested four drug traders, Kaharole Thana police arrested three suspects, Chirirbandar Thana police arrested four including two activists of Jamaat-E-Islami, Khansama Thana police arrested one person, Phulbari Thana police arrested two persons, Nawabganj Thana police arrested two, Hakimpur Thana police arrested one and Ghoraghat Thana police detained two people.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrestees, the sources added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained two drug pedlars with 119 bottles of Phensidyl around 6 am from Hili Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of the district.
Later, the detained persons were handed over to the Hakimpur Thana police, BGB said.
The arrested persons were sent to jail.
