The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain in many places of the country during the 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am on Saturday.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country,” said a Met office bulletin.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, reports UNB.
The low-pressure area over Central Uttar Pradesh and adjoining area weakened and merge with monsoon axis.
The axis of monsoon troughs runs through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay.
