A new private airline, Fly Dhaka Airlines Limited, will launch its operations by November this year, the airline has announced.
Having secured its aircraft, the airline is now actively addressing various issues related to the acquisition of the Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC), it said in a press release.
With aspirations to expand its presence across the Bangladesh airspace in 2024, Fly Dhaka Airlines is diligently advancing through the personnel recruitment process, according to the press release.
Lt General (Rtd) Molla Fazle Akbar, chief executive officer (CEO) of Fly Dhaka Airlines, said “A vision has been articulated to position Bangladesh as a prominent global aviation hub. Fly Dhaka Airlines is committed to earnestly pursuing this vision, thus contributing to the enhancement of the aviation sector in Bangladesh.”
“Our aim is not only to establish a robust presence in the domestic market but also to extend our reach to the global arena. Towards this end, a negotiation with a giant Asian airline is already underway,” he added.
Anchored by the ethos of “Connecting Dreams, Uniting Destinations,” the workforce of Fly Dhaka Airlines is steadfastly dedicated to realising this vision, the airline said in the press release.
The airline envisages commencing operations on domestic routes utilising state-of-the-art ATR 72-600 model aircraft, according to the press release.
Looking ahead, the airline added, for international services, it will induct Airbus/Boeing aircraft, thereby ensuring safety, efficiency and reliability in its global operations.
With Fly Dhaka Airlines coming into operation, the total number of private airlines operating in the country will be four. The three other private airlines are Novoair, US-Bangla Airlines, and Air Astra.
