Pledging to expand its activities nationwide to promote Bengali cultural values, cultural organisation Chhayanaut has formed its new executive committee.
Sarwar Ali has been re-elected as president, with Laisa Ahmed Lisa retaining her post as general secretary.
The election was held at the annual general meeting at Ramesh Chandra Dutta Memorial Hall in Chhayanaut's cultural building in Dhaka's Dhanmondi on Friday.
Members voted to elect 15 office-bearers, including the president and general secretary, for a three-year term, alongside six advisors for the same period.
Khairul Anam Shakil and Partha Tanveer Naved were elected as vice-presidents.
Jayanta Roy and Tania Mannan were elected joint general secretaries, while Nasihun Amin was chosen as treasurer.
The executive committee members are Mofidul Hoque, Sahana Akhter Rahman Papri, Nahas Khalil, Zubair Yusuf, Jesmin Buli, Shashanka Sadi, Sharmin Sathi Islam and Mahua Manjari Sunanda.
The newly elected advisory council comprises Selina Malek Chowdhury, Iffat Ara Dewan, Shaheen Samad, Sultana Kamal, Ramendu Majumder and Shyamoli Nasrin Chowdhury.
