Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) held a meeting of its highest policymaking body, the standing committee, on Saturday night.

The meeting, presided over by BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, started at 8:10 pm on Saturday, according to the party chairman's Gulshan office, according to bdnews24.com.
After the meeting, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told reporters that the members of the committee have entrusted the responsibility of selecting the presidential candidate to the party chairman, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Among those attending in person are BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salahuddin Ahmed, Selima Rahman, Iqbal Hassan Mahmood Tuku, and AZM Zahid Hossain.
Committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan is participating virtually via video link.
