Facebook and several other Meta-owned platforms experienced a widespread outage, affecting apps and websites across the world.
News portals said the disruption rendered the platforms inaccessible to users.
Some users were reportedly automatically logged out of their accounts during the outage.
Attempts to log back in were met with an error message stating that “an unexpected error occurred”.
