The interim government has changed the names of two more international stadiums.
The name of the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram has been changed to Bir Shrestha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium while the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Narayanganj has been renamed Shaheed Riya Gope Cricket Stadium.
The information was revealed in a press release undersigned by the National Sports Council Secretary, Md Aminul Islam, on Sunday.
Riya Gope, a six-year-old girl, was shot in the head while playing on the roof during the July uprising last year. She succumbed to injures five days later.
Last month, the name of the Bangabandhu National Stadium was changed to the National Stadium, Dhaka.
