Monno Ceramic tops DSE turnover chart

Ten most traded companies accounted for 21 per cent transactions on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Thursday, with Monno Ceramic generating the highest turnover.

According to the DSE data, some 306,549 shares of Monno Ceramic were traded, generating a turnover of more than Tk 40 million, which was 8.20 per cent of the day's total turnover of Tk 491 million.

The company's share closed at Tk 131.40 on Thursday, gaining 2.01 per cent over the previous day.

The company disbursed 10 per cent cash and 10 per cent stock dividend for the year ended on June 30, 2019.

The sponsor-director own 57.58 per cent stake in the company, while the institutional investors own 4.82 per cent, foreign investors 0.11 per cent and the general public 37.49 per cent as on February 29, 2020, the DSE data showed.

Uttara Bank came second on the turnover chart, with shares worth more than Tk 11 million changing hands. The bank's share rose 4.78 per cent to close at Tk 24.10 each.

Square Pharma clinched the third spot, with shares worth Tk 11 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 170.40, soaring 6.83 per cent.

National Bank emerged as the fourth, with shares worth nearly Tk 10 million changing hands. The bank's share jumped 4.54 per cent to close at Tk 6.90 each.

Mercnatile Bank notched the fifth spot, with shares worth Tk 6.63 million changing hands. The bank's share closed at Tk 10.70, jumping 5.94 per cent.

Aziz Pipes, Paramount Insurance, Continental Insurance, Linde Bangladesh and International Leasing & Financial Services also made their way to the day's top turnover chart.
