Veteran Banker Ahmed Ismet joined Bangladesh Development Bank PLC as chairman on Sunday.
The Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance recently appointed him as chairman of the bank, according to a press release.
Before joining BDBPLC, Mr. Ismet was an adviser to the Board of Wall Street Exchange, Dubai (UAE). He previously served as Managing Director (Current Charge) and head of consumer banking at the Eastern Bank PLC.
He joined the Central Bank of UAE as a senior research officer and also worked at the Banking Supervision Department and Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).
Ahmed Ismet obtained his BA (Honours) and Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka.
