Grameenphone and Prime Bank FinTech join hands to expand digital and financial services access

Grameenphone, the country’s leading telecommunications service provider, has partnered with Prime Bank FinTech Limited, a licensed Mobile Financial Services provider, to expand access to secure, inclusive, and seamless financial solutions across Bangladesh.

The collaboration brings together Grameenphone’s extensive digital ecosystem and nationwide connectivity with Prime Bank FinTech Limited’s financial services platform, aiming to bridge gaps in access and accelerate the adoption of mobile financial services, according to a media release. 

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was recently signed at GPHouse, Dhaka, by Yasir Azman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Grameenphone, and Sheikh Aminur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Prime Bank FinTech Limited, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.

Under this partnership, customers will be able to seamlessly access Grameenphone mobile recharge services through Prime Bank FinTech Limited’s Mobile Financial Services (MFS) platform, significantly enhancing convenience and ease of use.

The collaboration will also enable access to selected telecom and financial services via Prime Bank FinTech Limited’s USSD, ensuring availability for users without smartphones or internet connectivity, extending the reach of mobile financial services to underserved segments.

Senior officials from both organizations were present at the signing ceremony.

From Grameenphone, attendees included Chief Product Officer Solaiman Alam; Chief Business Officer Asif Naimur Rashid; Head of Digital Business Zahiduz Zaman; Head of Prime Accounts Arvid Chowdhury; Head of Digital Retail Inzamul Haque Chowdhury; and Head of Prime Accounts 3 Md Hasanul Islam.

From Prime Bank FinTech Ltd, Chief Commercial Officer Mohammad Mahbub Sobhan; Head of Brand & Communication Nabila Khalid; Additional General Manager Mohammad Mahmud Hassan; and Head of Technology Operation & Services Mahidul Hasan were also present.
