The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) has appointed Md. Quamruzzaman as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He assumed office on 12 July 2026.
Mr. Quamruzzaman brings more than 35 years of leadership experience in the banking and financial services sector, according to a media release.
Before joining ICAB, he served as Country Head and Chief Executive Officer of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Bangladesh Operations. He previously held senior leadership positions at Premier Bank PLC, Bank Alfalah Limited, The Trust Bank Limited, Standard Chartered Bank, Industrial Development Leasing Company of Bangladesh Limited (IDLC), and Arab Bangladesh Bank Limited.
Mr. Quamruzzaman holds an MBA in Marketing from Royal Roads University, Canada, and M.Com. and B.Com. degrees in Marketing from the University of Dhaka.
His appointment is expected to further strengthen ICAB's institutional excellence, regulatory and member services, the release adds.
