An official of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) ranked first among overseas fellows in the 2022-23 JETRO-IDEAS training programme.

Md Tarek Mahmud, NBR deputy director, Central Intelligence Cell, participated in the training of the Institute of Deve-loping Economies Advan-ced School (IDEAS).

Both JETRO and IDEAS, a research institute affiliated with JETRO (IDE-JETRO), have been conducting such training since 1992.

Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) country representative Yuji Ando handed over completion certificate of IDEAS Training Programme 2022 to Mr Tarek at NBR Bhaban on Monday.

Abdul Mannan Shikder, NBR member (customs audit, modernisation and international trade), was present.

Mr Yuji lauded government officials' hard work and dedication to work and hoped they will be encouraged to improve business environment through IDEAS programme.

From 1992 to 2023, the IDEAS has the biggest alumni network in Bangla-desh with more than 25 members from different ministries, mostly from the NBR.
